Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint (AASR) was founded by Guy Stephens in 2019. AASR’s mission is to educate the public and connect people who are dedicated to changing minds, laws, policies, and practices so that restraint and seclusion are reduced and eliminated from schools across the nation (and beyond).

Alliance for the Safe, Therapeutic and Appropriate Use of Residential Treatment (ASTART) was founded in 2005. ASTART is a community of professionals, family members and survivors working to protect children from abuse and neglect in residential programs, and ensure families have safe and effective community-based care.

Breaking Code Silence (BCS) was founded in 2019 by Katherine McNamara, Jen Robison, Chelsea Filer, Jenna Bulis, and Emily Carter, although the campaign began in 2014. BCS is a movement organized by a network of survivors and activists to raise awareness of the problems in the troubled-teen industry, and the need for reform. #BreakingCodeSilence

Community Alliance for the Ethical Treatment of Youth (CAFETY) was founded in 2006 by Charles King and Kathryn Whitehead. CAFETY is a member-driven advocacy organization that promotes, secures, and protects the human rights of youth who are confined in residential programs or who are at risk of being confined in such programs.

Enthusiastic Sobriety Abuse Alliance was founded in May of 2021 by Liz Nickerson, Christina Warden, Jill Marie Letts, Blake Strider, Katie O’Connor, and Parker Mirich. Enthusiastic Sobriety Abuse Alliance’s mission is to spread awareness of the patterns of abuses in Enthusiastic Sobriety Programs in order to protect potential families and to report abuses and ethical violations to local Governmental oversight agencies.

Institutional Child Abuse Prevention and Advocacy Network (ICAPA) was founded in September 2021 by Chelsea Filer and Jenna Bulis. ICAPA’s mission is to bring an end to institutional child abuse.

National Youth Rights Association (NYRA) was founded in 1998. NYRA is dedicated to defending the freedom, equality, and rights of all young people by challenging age discrimination and prejudice.

Survivors of Childhood Institutional Abuse Database (SCIAD) was created in September 2021 by Katherine McNamara.

Survivors of Institutional Abuse (SIA) was founded in 2010 by Jodi Hobbs. SIA is a family centered survivor and advocacy support nonprofit organization. #UnitedWithOneVoice

UnBroken was founded in the summer of 2018 by Samantha Gerson. UnBroken is a nonprofit organization that works with survivors of the Troubled-Teen Industry and Institutional Abuse/Conversion Therapy. The organization connects trained therapists, vocational mentors and lawyers, nationally, to work with traumatized survivors at no cost to them.

UnSilenced was founded on December 31, 2021, by Caroline Cole and Meg Appelgate and then launched on January 15, 2022. UnSilenced’s mission is to stop institutional child abuse by empowering self-advocates to create lasting social change. #UnSilenced #WeAreUnSilenced

We Warned Them was founded in October 2020 by Jasmyne Arianna, Gabriel González, and Kia Wallace and then launched in September 2021. We Warned Them’s mission is to empower communities everywhere to urge their elected officials to implement systematic change to protect at-risk youth.

WWASP Diaries was founded by Chelsea Maldonado in 2011.

WWASP Survivors was founded in 2012 by Bill Boyles and Chelsea Filer. WWASP Survivors’ mission is to raise awareness of the true dangers of WWASP programs, to advocate for those still being held and abused within the troubled-teen industry, and to provide support to survivors of WWASP programs.

Youth Emancipation Project was founded in February 2021 by Chelsea Maldonado. #YEP4Rights

Youth in Disorder was founded by Jen Robison in 2021. Youth in Disorder is a starting point for parents and communities to learn about the issue of the “Troubled Teen” Industry (TTI) and Institutional Child Abuse (ICA). #endTTI #BreakingCodeSilence
